First Mass-Produced Camera Goes On Auction

Just when you think you found an old camera in your grandmothers basement, the first mass-produced camera goes on auction. It is the Giroux Daguerreotype and was produced in 1839. It is a true gem of a camera. Exposures could take up to 30 minutes.

This "excellent condition" camera has an opening bid of €200,000 but experts expect this little camera to go for around €700,000.

I wonder how much I can get for an old Brownie? :-)
