Apple bought the HP Campus in Cupertino making it the largest land owner in the city. They paid $300 million for the 98 acre site. The HP site connects to another 50 acres that Apple bought in 2006. Apple now has room to grow even more :-)

Security Firms Mad At Microsoft

Security firms are now mad at Microsoft for distributing Security Essentials for free. Microsoft's software is so poorly designed from a security standpoint that an entire industry grew to take care of this security problems. Rather than building an OS that is secure, Microsoft now offers a security add-on for free. Why this is not part of the standard build makes no sense from a software design standpoint.

That is Microsoft for you!

This is the funniest thing that I seem in awhile.

How Do Cats Drink

Some MIT professors did a study to determine how cats actually drink liquids. This is a pretty amazing story. Cats use their tongues to draw liquid up and into their mouths without breaking the surface of the liquid. Unlike a dog who largely just slobbers. :-)

NASA's New Plane

NASA has received a budget of $15 million to build a new supersonic plane. Unlike the SR-71 Blackbird which only flew three times the speed of sound, this new plane will be able to exit the atmosphere somewhere between Mach 5 and Mach 20. I can't figure out how they are going to build this for only $15 million.
