Dell Hell

Denial is a powerful tool! Andy Lark of Dell said the following today about the iPad

"I couldn’t be happier that Apple has created a market and built up enthusiasm but longer term, open, capable and affordable will win, not closed, high price and proprietary. Apple is great if you’ve got a lot of money and live on an island. It’s not so great if you have to exist in a diverse, open, connected enterprise; simple things become quite complex.”

Man, Dell really doesn't get it on so many levels that it is no surprise that they are in trouble.

Star Wars: The Complete Saga

Now that the release date has been announced for the Blu-ray version of Star Wars: The Complete Saga, I no longer have an excuse for not owning a Blu-ray player :-)

Look for it to be available on September 16, 2011

Not Again!

Not again. An Eagle Ray breached and landed on top of a women in a boat. Fortunately, she was not killed like the women I discussed in a blog post back in 2008.

Eagle Ray are very playful and often show off for boaters and divers. When they breach they look as if they are flying.

This particular Eagle Ray was eight feet wide and weighed in at 300 pounds. This lady is lucky to be alive!

Max OS X Turns 10 Today

Mac OS X turned 10 today. It is hard to believe that one of the world's best operating systems has been around for 10 years already. It seems like it was just yesterday that Cheetah came out. Well, not literally yesterday but it certainly doesn't seem like 10 years. :-)

AT&T To Acquire T-Mobile

AT&T has reached an agreement to purchase T-Mobile USA for $39 Billion. The deal calls for Deutsche Telekom to receive an approximately 8 percent equity stake in AT&T.

In my opinion, this is horrible news! I have been with T-Mobile since they bought VoiceStream. T-Mobile has consistently had one of the best customer satisfaction ratings while AT&T has one of the worst.

If AT&T leaves T-Mobile to run as a separate entity this might work. If not, watch out. T-Mobile's customer service with devolve into the depths of customer service hell that is AT&T.

Singer Porsche 911

This is a dream car. A Singer Porsche 911. It is build on an early 1990's 911 but looks like a 70's era 911. It is re-bodied in carbon fiber and has 427hp. This has all the technology of a modern super car with the look of a classic.

I am afraid to ask how much it costs!

Happy Birthday Yogi

Today would have been Yogi's 11th birthday. We had a cake made in his honor. We lost him on July 14, 2008 due to complications related to pancreatitis and diabetes.

Yogi was a gorgeous Maine Coon. He was featured on the 2009 cover of the Cornell University Feline Health Center's annual report.

We miss our Yogi!

Cats With Thumbs

This is a great commercial from the UK. If cats had thumbs they could take over the world! :-)

Clients From Hell

This is a very cool website. Anyone that has to deal with clients will attest to some of the crazy things that you have to deal with.

Lufthansa’s First Class Terminal

Lufthansa opened the most amazing first class service in Frankfurt. It is a stand alone facility. You don't have to deal with the regular airport terminal and more importantly, normal airport security. They even drive you to the gate in a Mercedes or Porsche where you take a private elevator to the first class cabin.

This is the most luxurious flying expertise ever!

iPad2

The new iPad was announced today and will be released on March 11th. Yes, I just ordered one :-)

Dark Side - A VW Super Bowl Ad Parody

Nice Kitty

It seems that Darpa is working on a robotic Cheetah. It is being built by Boston Dynamics. It has a flexible spine and articulating head. No word if it will be as fast as a real Cheetah but it is said to be faster than the fasted human. In addition, it will have the agility of a real Cheetah. It will be able to make tight turns and stop on a dime.

I want one of these :-)
