New Watch
For the person who has everything, the new Devon Works Tread 1. It is only $15,000. Honestly, who spends that much on a watch?
It is a cool watch but I wonder how long the upscale watch market will hold up. I love watches and have a lot of them but young people no longer buy or wear watches. They all use their cell phones for the time of day.
I Wish
You have to love Steve Ballmer's humor. When market analysts asked him about his thoughts on the iPad he replied "they've sold certainly more than I'd like them to have sold." He went on to discuss how a new Windows based slate would decimate Apple's iPad market.
Mr. Ballmer is always good for a laugh. :-)

Living Right
Rick Norsigian, a commercial painter from Fresno California, is living right. Ten years ago he bought a box full of stuff at a garage sale for $45. It has been in the garage ever since. It turns out that the box contained 65 glass plate photos taken by Ansel Adams. These plates were thought to have been destroyed in a 1937 darkroom fire.
Experts estimate that these glass photo plates are worth around $200 million.

A Sad Day
It is truly a sad day. The last roll of Kodachrome was processed at the Dwayne's Photo Service in Parsons Kansas. Throughout it's history, Kodachrome was loved by photographers worldwide. When Velvia came along, the demand for Kodachrome started to diminish. Then along came digital and the demand for Kodachrome was even worse. Kodachrome could only be processed by special labs. Dwayne's was the last Kodachrome lab in the country.
To this day, Kodachrome is the only film ever to have a song written about it.

Times Are Tough
You know times are tough when the dark lord of the sith, Darth Vader, has to resort to robbing banks.

Summer Picnics
Everyone loves a summer picnic but no one likes hot watermelon. How about a rolling watermelon cooler? For only $230 you can have one of these great machines. Import fees extra.
The real question is how have we lived without one of these for so long :-)

Chevy Vs. Chevy
This is an interesting crash test. A 1959 Chevy Bel Air vs. a 2009 Chevy Malibu. New cars are indeed safer!

REAL Cat Burglar
12 year old Oscar here is a true Cat Burglar. Since Spring he has brought home over 70 items including gardening gloves, underwear, and socks.
He even brings home children's clothes. The thing is that there are no children living anywhere near Oscar's home. He does a fair amount of traveling.

Windows XP Extended Until 2020
What many people do not realize is that 74% of business users still use Windows XP, the nine year old OS. Businesses have no interest in upgrading to Windows 7.
Yesterday Microsoft announced that it would extend licencing of Windows XP until 2020. Unfortunately, this also extends the BSOD surprise for Windows users :-)

The New Darth Vader
Who doesn't know Darth Vader? Most of us grew up with Star Wars. There are even Star Wars marathons on television about once a month. The owners of DKE Toys created the "Vader Project" to allow new artists to demonstrate their creativity with the iconic Darth Vader helmet.
Have a look at some of the creations at Wired Magazine.
Are Libraries Obsolete
I do wonder how much longer we will have general libraries. There will always be room for special collections. Stanford University decided to reduce the physical volume of their Engineering Library down to 10,000 physical volumes from 80,000. All of the removed volumes will be digitized.

More Ultimate GPS!
Although I prefer the earlier Darth Vader Tom Tom voice over, this one is pretty awesome as well!

Lego House
James May of the BBC built a full size house out of Lego's. It took over three million Lego blocks to make it. In fact, the house is free to anyone that will take it. The only problem that you will run into is 'how does one move a Lego house?' :-)
The BBC is trying to give the house away but no one wants it.
Batmobile For Sale
For the person that has everything - a replica of the Batmobile. What better place to sell it than eBay motors. From the description and photos, my guess is that at $165,000, it is being sold for less than the cost to build it.

Beat Those Luggage Fees
Here is a great way to beat those damned luggage fees that most airlines are charging. It is the Scottevest Carry On Coat. It has 25 pockets that will carry just about everything that you need for a business trip.
I can just see putting this through the airport scanners now :-)

Lawnmowers
I am no fan of mowing the yard but this guy has the fastest lawn mower in the world. He just set the land speed record for a lawnmower at 87.833mph.
Bionic Cat
This is kind of a heart warming story. This kitty lost his back legs in a farming accident. Rather than put him to sleep, they built him some titanium legs.
The BBC is doing a special on the kitty.
