Best iTunes Gift Card Ever!
This story is amazing. When Louie Sulcer answered his phone on February 24th, the person on the other end of the line said 'This is Steve Jobs from Apple.' Who would believe that one? It turns out that it really was Steve Jobs. Mr. Sulcer had downloaded the 10 billionth song from iTunes. Mr. Jobs called to tell him that his reward was a $10,000 iTunes card.
I love Apple!

No Laptops In Class
This is great. This professor at the University of Oklahoma has a strict 'no laptop use in class' policy. I can certainly see his point. It is distracting to other students as the computers are often used for non-class related surfing, etc.
Where can I get some liquid nitrogen? :-)

Please Rob Me
This is hilarious. It is the perfect tool for a burglar. It is a website called 'Please Rob Me.' The basic idea is that with people telling the world everything that they are doing on Facebook and Twitter, 'Please Rob Me' keeps up with who is away from home.
The websites founders say that their objective is not really to have people robbed but to show the world the dangers of social networking.
The other option is to just lave a hungry tiger at home in your absence :-)

PDF Files A Security Nightmare
According to a report by ZDNet, 80% of all exploits for 2009 came in the form malicious PDF files. Hackers use PDF as an easy exploit as it is ubiquitous.
Adobe doesn't seem to be able to catch a break lately!
Darpa Working On Real C3PO
Wired magazine ran an article about DARPA working on a real-life C3PO. The basic idea is a robot that can translate 20 languages with 98% accuracy.
Not up to the 6 million forms of communication that C3PO had, but a start.

Fred Morrison Dies - The World Mourns!
Fred Morrison died today at the age of 90 at his home in Utah. We have Fred to thank for the invention of the Frisbee. For most of us, we spent more hours with a Frisbee than a textbook :-)
No Jamaica Team At 2010 Winter Olympics
Unfortunately, my favorite bobsled team did not qualify for the 2010 Winter Olympics. The Jamaican bobsled team did not qualify for the wild card slot this year. That is very unfortunate as Hannukkah Wallace, the team’s driver, is ranked among the top 50 bobsled drivers in the world.

Today Google announced that they are getting into the high speed gigabit internet business. That is 1GB per second to homes. I want in on this!

Google Buzz
Google Buzz is a new product that brings social networking directly to your Gmail. It works kind of like Facebook's newsfeeds but without that closed infrastructure. It can pull content from many locations.
This is going to be cool to watch! See the video.

Best Superbowl Ad - 2010
This Google Superbowl ad is genius. Sure, Motorola's ad was pretty cool but at the end, who even knew it was an ad for a new phone :-)

Make Your Own iPad
This is rather odd. The guys over at Macrumors found someone that designed a full-sized paper cut-out iPad. I guess that he is tired of waiting for the real one.

Death Cat
Oscar here can predict death. He lives in a nursing home. He is so good at his job that he has predicted the last 50 deaths at Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in Providence, Rhode Island.
There is a new book out about Oscar called "Making Rounds With Oscar."

802.11n Bumper Sticker
This is cool. It is a bumper sticker that can detect an 802.11 (WiFi) signal. The sticker lights up when a signal is detected. This is an ultimate geek toy! I need one.
