As many Gmail and Google Apps users know, Gmail was down much of yesterday. Google kept everyone in the loop as to what was going on with hourly updates. Today Google explained the situation and how it would be addressed.
This dedication to customer service is awesome. Gmail remains the most reliable email service on the planet with 99.9% availability.
If this situation had happened over at Hotmail no one would ever know what really happened and it would still be down!
