Dell Hell

Denial is a powerful tool! Andy Lark of Dell said the following today about the iPad

"I couldn’t be happier that Apple has created a market and built up enthusiasm but longer term, open, capable and affordable will win, not closed, high price and proprietary. Apple is great if you’ve got a lot of money and live on an island. It’s not so great if you have to exist in a diverse, open, connected enterprise; simple things become quite complex.”

Man, Dell really doesn't get it on so many levels that it is no surprise that they are in trouble.

Star Wars: The Complete Saga

Now that the release date has been announced for the Blu-ray version of Star Wars: The Complete Saga, I no longer have an excuse for not owning a Blu-ray player :-)

Look for it to be available on September 16, 2011

Not Again!

Not again. An Eagle Ray breached and landed on top of a women in a boat. Fortunately, she was not killed like the women I discussed in a blog post back in 2008.

Eagle Ray are very playful and often show off for boaters and divers. When they breach they look as if they are flying.

This particular Eagle Ray was eight feet wide and weighed in at 300 pounds. This lady is lucky to be alive!

Max OS X Turns 10 Today

Mac OS X turned 10 today. It is hard to believe that one of the world's best operating systems has been around for 10 years already. It seems like it was just yesterday that Cheetah came out. Well, not literally yesterday but it certainly doesn't seem like 10 years. :-)

AT&T To Acquire T-Mobile

AT&T has reached an agreement to purchase T-Mobile USA for $39 Billion. The deal calls for Deutsche Telekom to receive an approximately 8 percent equity stake in AT&T.

In my opinion, this is horrible news! I have been with T-Mobile since they bought VoiceStream. T-Mobile has consistently had one of the best customer satisfaction ratings while AT&T has one of the worst.

If AT&T leaves T-Mobile to run as a separate entity this might work. If not, watch out. T-Mobile's customer service with devolve into the depths of customer service hell that is AT&T.
