A Very Sad Day

This is a very sad day in modern history. It is the last day that Dwayne's will ever process a roll of Kodachrome.

There have been a lot of great films in history but only one with a hit song written about it!

Apple Lisa 1

An Apple Lisa 1 sold for $15,000 on eBay. This Lisa 1 actually works perfectly. It had been sitting in a closet for 20 years.

The Lisa 1 was very unreliable. To find one that actually works is a miracle of sorts.

Not sure that I could part with $15,000 to buy one thought :-)

Classic Typewriters

Some of you may not even remember the typewriter. It was what we used to create documents before the invention of the PC. :-)

There is a company called My Typewriter.com that still sells typewriters. After a nuclear explosion, this will be the only way to write a letter :-)

Rare Lunar Eclipse

There is going to be a rare lunar eclipse tonight on the Winter solstice. According to NASA, the last time this occurred was in 1638. It is not expected to happen again until 2094.

The eclipse will last 3.5 hours. It starts at 1:30am EST and ends around 5:00am EST. The earth's shadow will completely cover the moon for 72 minutes.

Porsche Sled

If you are going to buy a sled this year it might as well be built by Porsche. This Porsche Sled is only $265. Porsche - There is not substitute :-)

Christmas Presents For Cats

It wouldn't be Christmas without toys for the cats. This year they can have iPad games made specifically for them. iPads are great for everyone. Its really funny until you remember how much you paid for that iPad :-)

Price Transparency

Retailers hate price transparency! A Wall Street Journal article details a guy pricing a Garmin for his girlfriend at Best Buy using the camera on his Android phone as a scanner. (This is an application that I use all the time.) The Garmin was $184.85 at Best Buy and $106.75 at Amazon with free shipping and no tax. He was able to purchase the Garmin from Amazon while he was still at Best Buy.

This is a paradigm shift that retailers had better get a handle on fast.
